We tested with a machine on our office network how our services would work just using just native IPv6. We used an apple laptop, and disabled IPv4 and enabled IPv6. -we suspect similar results on an ADSL line - we'll test this later on.

Here are some of the results:

Working:

  • Pinging www.google.com (ping6)
  • Web page browsing to aa.net.uk (firefox)
  • Web page browsing to google.co.uk (firefox)
  • Web page browsing to revk.www.me.uk (firefox - but some parts are missing, such as top header )
  • AAISP Webmail
  • AAISP sending email (smtp.aaisp.net.uk, with Thunderbird)
  • AAISP receiving email (imap on Apple Mail App)

Not working:

  • AAISP receiving email (imap on Thunderbird) - gave refused, need more logging on the mail server (Mail App worked)
  • AAISP VoIP - Phone server does not yet support IPv6
  • Any IPv4 access!
  • Status page - no IPv6 on this server yet, it's on a different network in Amsterdam. IPv6 is planned though. (at least before June 8th 2011)

Still to Test

  • Clueless Control Pages
  • AAISP Billing System pages
  • AAISP WIKI
  • AAISP Ticketing System (email based)
