The voicemail system can play a pre-recorded message and then hang up the call. In this case, no recording will be emailed to you. This can be useful for announcements and where you want to give a message but don't want the caller to be able to leave a message for you.

Examples of how you may use this

  • As a pre-recorded status announcement, -you'll then record a new message when you do have an issue:
    • "We are not aware of any service affecting issues"
  • With a delay to say that no one is available, please call back later, here you'd want to register a phone or set also-rings:
    • Sorry, we're unable to take your call at the moment, please call back or email xxx@yyy

Accessing This Feature

Access is via the Control Pages as follows:

  1. Log in to the Control Pages with your xxx@a login
  2. Click on the Number you want to configure
  3. Click the 'Incoming Tab'
  4. Set Voicemail to 'Always' (or, optionally with a delay)
  5. Ignore the format option, as a recording will not be sent to you
  6. Ensure not to set an email address in the Email To box

To record the greeting, see: VoIP - Voicemail

Play a message to your caller and then end the call. Leave the email box empty
