Why Less

Lots of our servers and routers have hostnames ending in "less".

The story of how this all started was when we 'signed the purchase order' for the original Clueless server back in 2000, this this was the Dilbert comic at the time. And then naming servers with names ending 'less' never stopped!

Examples

• Our BGP routers are called Aimless
• Our LNS routers which talk to supplies like BT are called Gormless
• Our accounts system is called Priceless
• Our VoIP servers are called Voiceless (our older ones were called Speechless)
• Our DNS servers are called Nameless
• and many more!
