(Note - requirements: To be able to use these methods you have to have access to a DNS server on which you can define PTR records. If you are using a hosted DNS system in respect of a particular domain name that you administer, then sometimes where you do not have direct administrative access to a DNS server (such as BIND) but use a system with a user-friendly ‘control panel’ you may have more limited access and some such systems do not have full facilities and may not support creation of PTR records.)
We have two main ways to solve this, and you can select which you prefer using the control pages. In both cases the task is to set up the name servers which you manage and which will give the answers for reverse DNS queries. The Reverse DNS name server boxes on the control pages let you specify one to six name servers (by name, not by IP address) for you name server(s). Don't put a dot on the end of the name though.
