Some notes fritzbox 7530, taken (with thanks!) from: https://forums.thinkbroadband.com/voip/t/4749882-re-aa-voip-with-fritzbox-7530.html

FritzOS 7.57 with A&A VoIP, all works fine.

Settings as follows:

Under "Telephony -> Telephone Numbers" you will need an entry for A&A, which should look like:

Status Telephone Number Provider Preselection
(green dot) 01yyyxxxxxx voiceless.aa.net.uk* *123#

I obscured our phone number, under "Status" you should see a green dot if successfully registered, the *123# is put in there by the Fritzbox, no need to set that up yourself.

There is an "edit" and "delete" button to the right. Once you click "edit" you see another page "Edit Telephone Number". Here I have got:

under Account Information

  • Use internet telephone number checked
  • Telephony provider Other provider

Telephone number for registration

  • your number in international format, I have +441268xxxxxx
  • Internal telephone number in the FRITZ!Box** not really important, I have 01268xxxxx
  • Display name (leave blank)

under Account Information

  • Username, Authentication name, Password as supplied by A&A
  • Registrar voiceless.aa.net.uk
  • Proxy server (leave blank)
  • STUN server (leave blank)

under Telephone Number Format

  • Precede the number dialed with these prefix numerals:
  • Country code select With prefix (0044)
  • Area code select Without prefix (1268)
  • Relay outgoing emergency calls without prefixes checked
  • Relay special rate numbers without prefixes checked

the rest in this section is blank/unchecked

under Additional Settings for the Telephone Number

  • DTMF transmission RTP or Inband
  • Suppress outgoing Caller ID (CLIR) CLIR via display name
  • Caller ID disabled
  • Provider supports G.726 in accordance with RFC 3551 unchecked
  • Provider supports call-back on busy (CCBS) in accordance with RFC 4235 unchecked
  • Provider supports forwarding of calls during the calling phase unchecked
  • Packet size in milliseconds in send direction 20

under Additional Settings for the Connection

  • Use telephone number for registration checked
  • Always register via an internet connection checked
Contact internet telephony provider via
  • Transport protocol only via IPv4
  • The provider supports encrypted telephony via SRTP in accordance with RFC 3711 and RFC 4568 unchecked
  • Media protocol RTP/AVP
  • Provider supports MWI (RFC 3842) unchecked
  • Provider does not support REGISTER-fetch unchecked

It may also work with some of the above configured differently, but what is shown above works for me.

FRITZ!Box 7490 / FRITZ!OS:7.59 -- all works fine

The Additional Settings for the Connection section seems to have been rearranged slightly, compared with the above.

under Additional Settings for the Connection

I have:

  • Use telephone number for registration checked
  • Always register via an internet connection checked
  • Contact internet telephony provider via only via IPv4
  • Transport protocol Automatic
  • The provider supports encrypted telephony via SRTP in accordance with RFC 3711 and RFC 4568 checked
  • Media protocol RTP/AVP
  • Provider supports MWI (RFC 3842) unchecked
  • Provider does not support REGISTER-fetch unchecked

The interesting difference here is that I have the encrypted telephony option checked, and it still works.

under Telephone Number Format:

I have:

  • Country code select none
  • Area code select none

because my box is globally configured to match its location in Germany, so offers me only With prefix (0049) as an option, which is unhelpful. I tend to dial UK numbers prefixed with 0044, which may be a habit that I developed in order to make sure this setting works for me. -- Philh (talk)
