It is often useful to know the terminology that Openreach use to describe the parts of the wiring between the exchange and the premises.

This diagram shows some of this, including:

  • E-Side (Cable from Exchange to the Cabinet)
  • D-Dide (Cable from the Cabinet to the Distribution point, which may be in the building or on a pole in some cases)
