!Summary
|
(T20B for short!) A consumer grade router which ideal for home use or for small offices.
|
(T'Color for short!) Our higher specification standard router. If you want better range, you can use 2.4 GHz. If you need higher performance or speed, you can use the 5GHz band. The 5GHz band, has the potential to cut through network clutter and interference to maximize network performance.
|
(FB for short!) The FireBrick 2900 is a router, bonding box and traffic shaper. It can act as a SIP PBX, VPN tunnel endpoint and concentrator. Most commonly it is used as a general purpose network appliance in office environments, or for customers that would like to bond 2 or more circuits.
|-
!Ideal for:
*All-in-one unit
|
*ADSL1, ADSL2+
*Use with a your own PPPoE router/firewall
*VDSL (FTTC)
|
*FTTP
*Use with your own IP router
*Good WiFI
*2 FXS ports, for connecting an analogue phone to a VoIP account
|
*Flexible and feature-packed router
*Advanced features such as 3G4G fallback, bonding etc.
|-
!Not so good points for:
|
*FTTP
*G.FAST
*Plugging in to a Modem (there is no Ethernet WAN port)
*WiFi is 2.4 GHz only
|
Steeper learning curve, as you'd probably expect from a router of this level (but A&A can help support)
|
*No WiFi capabilities
*Requires a separate access point connected for WiFi

Typical Scenarios
Or, maybe these typical scenarios will help you decide:

{| class="wikitable"
|-
!colspan=2| Our Suggestion
|-
|!I'm a home user, wanting wifi and wired connections for ADSL or FTTC, or just needing a modem for my own PPPoE router
|
|ZyXEL VMG1312-T20B
|Technicolor 582n
|-
!I'm a home user, wanting wifi and wired connections for ADSL or FTTC, and I want dualband WiFi range for online high resolution gaming, video streaming and high resolution audio
|I have my own routerboard or similar router with ADSL
|
|
|Technicolor DGA0122
|DLINK DSL 320B.

In bridge mode, your router can then talk PPPoE to it.
|-
|!I'd like to do bonding with ADSL/FTTC/FTTP
|
|
|FireBrick 2900
|FireBrick 2500, and use a DLINK modem if you have ADSL lines. Or use a 2700 of you have faster lines and may want fallback to 3G.
Use alongside a T20B or Vigor 130 (any compatible modem)

G.Fast and FTTP is a slightly different set-up. Please ask support for more info.

You can always use your own equipment, that's fine too!
