VoIP - Delayed Ring

From AAISP Support Site

Go to the VoIP Category

As a number can have multiple targets, each target can be delayed before they are called, this enables you to build cascading ring groups.

Each target can be given a delay (0–30 seconds). E.g., you can have your number ring your SIP phone immediately, and then also ring your mobile after 10 seconds.

SIP Delay feature

Under the incoming tab on the edit number page, you'll find the "Delay" option.

Customers often get confused with how this feature works. Most presume that when setting a delay to 6 seconds for example, It will delay ringing the SIP phone for 6 seconds. This Is not *really* the case.

The "Delay" drop down will only function If there Is at least one number In the also ring list. Calls need somewhere to go to, we can't hold onto a call to create a delay. The call has to go somewhere else first In order to delay the call to the SIP phone. It will call the also ring first, then delay ringing to the SIP phone for the amount of seconds you set.
