What is it?
You have a main company number, and a number (aka extension) for each of your five staff members. What you want to have is calls to your main number to ring the 5 extensions in turn until its answered.
Example:
- Incoming call:
- Ring extension 1 first
- If no answer ring extension 2 as well
- if no answer then ring everyone!
This can be achieved by using the 'Delay' feature of the 'Also ring' list. This idea is, is that your main number is set to also ring all 5 of your staff numbers and when they start ringing is managed by the 'delay' option.
In this example, lets assume you have the following six numbers:
- 0306 999 0100 - Company main number
- 0306 999 0101 - staff #1
- 0306 999 0102 - staff #2
- 0306 999 0103 - staff #3
- 0306 999 0104 - staff #4
- 0306 999 0105 - staff #5
How To: Using Delays to manage call flow
- Firstly, make sure your five phones are working
- Register phones against the 101-105 numbers
- Secondly, set up the Main number:
- Log in to the Control Pages with your xxx@a login
- Click on the 'Main' number,
- Click the Incoming Tab
- Scroll down to 'Also Ring'
- Add the five numbers to list of also rings
- Set the Delay according to how you want the phones to ring, eg:
- 0 sec for: 0306 999 0101
- 10 sec for: 0306 999 0102
- 15 sec for the rest
- Click the Save button at the top
