Usually a Phone line fault is black and white, and generally you have a problem with:

  • No dial tone
  • Unable to receive calls

If your broadband is down, then it is good to test the phone line.

  1. Plug a phone in to the test socket
    1. Do you have dial tone?
  2. Dial calling 17070, and listen to the recorded message which will read your number
    1. Is this the correct number?
