Many of the services that offer filtering also offer a way to check that they are being used. eg OpenDNS will tell you on their setup pages.

It should be stated that this isn't a way to get A&A to filter your internet connection, it's simply a way to change the DNS servers assigned to the router, and if set to a third party, could help in filter your internet connection. A&A cannot take any responsibly for third party DNS servers and what the claim to support or filter etc.
