It is often useful to know the terminology that Openreach use to describe the parts of the wiring between the exchange and the premises.
This diagram shows some of this, including:
- E-Side (Cable from Exchange to the Cabinet)
- D-Dide (Cable from the Cabinet to the Distribution point, which may be in the building or on a pole in some cases)
- DP = Distribution Point
- PCP = Primary Cross-Connection Point
- SCP = Secondary Cross-Connection Point
