Here is some information about how AAISP use Twitter...
Status Posts
Posts and updates from our status page are posted to Twitter in realtime.
System Updates via Twitter
If a twitter ID has been given to us, we'll send Direct Messages to customers via twitter regarding things such as order progress and line faults and up/down messages. You do need to follow AAISP on twitter for us to send you direct messages We can also send Direct Messages via twitter during faults to keep you updated.
Adding your Twitter ID to our systems
The new order process will ask for your Twitter ID. Also, on Clueless, clicking on your ADSL login (eg abc@a) you then have a box to enter/edit your twitter ID, and will also have options for how we contact you via twitter (as well as email and SMS)
If we have a mobile number and a Twitter ID, we'll use Twitter to send a message rather then sending a SMS.
Following
We will follow users who have set their twitter ID on our control pages, this means that you'll be able to DM us.
Contacting AAISP via Twitter
You can contact us via twitter - it's not often the easiest way to get in touch - but we do have staff who look out for messages during office hours, and staff will get notified in our internal IRC channel.
Other Social Media Sites
We also have a Facebook page.
