07 Availability
Our 07 number block does have problems with not being SMSable and not routed by all carriers. We are trying to get these features working, but there are not any ETAs at the moment.
07 Numbers
Our 07 number block is 074411xxxxx.
The block was allocated to us in July 2011 (http://s.aa.net.uk/1033). Customers are able to order numbers but not all telephone operators are routing the calls yet.
Some (mobile) operators may play a message before connecting a call to one of our 07 numbers that the number may be charged or is a premium number number... There is not much we can do about this, as the message is coming from the telephone operator the number is being called from. We can provide other numbers, e.g. 01, 02 or 03 numbers. We also have some Numbers that can be SMS'd.
Test Number
07441144123 is a number that will read back the calling number.
Operator Status
It takes time for new number blocks to be loaded in to the various telephone operators systems.

11 January 2012: "The number you have called is not recognised"
22 Feb 2012: "The number you have called is not recognised"
Date: Wed, 22 Feb 2012 22:37:04 +0000 (GMT) From: mycarewebform <mycarewebform@o2mail.co.uk> I've checked and found that the 074411... numbers haven't been added to our network. So, you won't be able to call these numbers from an O2 Pay Monthly phone. I understand that it's possible to call these numbers from other Service Providers. However, we aren't offering the service to call these numbers yet.

12 May 2016: In which O2 (by way of GiffGaff) points back at this very page as the reason it's not working...
Unfortunately, the block of numbers you are referring to aren't available to use on a giffgaff SIM as O2 have not added them to their network yet: https://support.aa.net.uk/07_Availability (Just copy and paste the link into your browser). I fully appreciate this was not the outcome you were hoping for, but I'm afraid this is something which is out of our control for the time being. According to A&A, they are aware of this issue but there is currently no ETA for a fix on this. If it is important that you call these numbers, I'm afraid I would have to recommend using a landline or another non-O2 mobile. Apologies for any inconvenience caused by this.
Three ✔!
Phone calls worked from a Three contract SIM on 2011-12-12 2012-06-19, it's been reported and confirmed on staff phones that Three are not including our number block in their normal tariff allowances, and an announcement is played saying the call will be charged for. i.e., the call will be charged for, rather than the call being included in 'free minutes'. We have no direct contract or channels of communication with Three on this, but we see no reason for them to do so. We suggest that Three customers raise a complaint with Three regarding this.
Text Messages
Sadly, we are expecting text messages to take longer to work.
