Overview

The ZyXEL P660R-D1 is a nice little ADSL router, ideal for sites that have their own firewall router. It can be configured for routing or bridging.

Bridge config

To configure the ZyxEL as a bridge, the settings to use are as follows, and these settings are set in:

Network > WAN > Internet Connection

Name: AAISP (But can be anything)
Mode: Bridge
Encapsulation: RFC 1483
Multiplexing: LLC (VC may work on 20cn, but stick with LLC)
VPI: 0
VCI: 38
ADSL modulation type: Multimode

Closing WAN HTTP

By default ZyXELs have their web interface open to the LAN and the WAN. This can be changed on the web interface to only allow access from the LAN.

There are a couple of options for securing WAN HTTP access:

  1. Only Allow Access From the LAN
  2. Allow LAN and WAN access but use a different Port
