Call Gate - IVR

Simple Call Gates are supported, where by a number can be called and a message played back such as 'Please press 1 for Sales, 2 for support...'. The system will then put the call to a corresponding number.

How to

We also have a 'How to' for this, see: VoIP How to: IVR and Voicemail Example

To set this up

Click to Access the Control Pages

Accessing This Feature

Access is via the Control Pages as follows:

  1. Log in to the Control Pages with your xxx@a login
  2. Click on the Number you want to configure
  3. Click the 'Incoming Tab'
  4. Set it to always to go voicemail
  5. Fill in some of the Also-rings to go to the DDI of the various targets you want (in +44 format)
  6. Enter a 'fail' number, as this will be used as the default number to call if no digits are keyed by the caller. This box MUST be filled in for the push button options to work. If this box is left blank the recording will continue to play and button presses will be ignored.
You can fill in the same number to repeat the message until the caller hangs up.
  7. Register a phone to the 'Main' number, dial 1571 and record your 'Please press 1 for Sales, 2 for support...' message

This works as follows, once the caller has called in and has been answered with the voicemail message, the caller can press a digit corresponding to the "also ring" entries; the call is put through to that destination number.

When a fail number set up as well as some "also ring" numbers then the fail number is used as a default destination if no digits are pressed.

When a fail number is filled in and no "also ring" are used then the fail number is called immediately after the announcement.

If a fail number is not filled in the message will be played and no further action. The call won't connect to anything after the message plays even if the "also ring" entries are populated.
