The voicemail system can play a pre-recorded message and then hang up the call. In this case, no recording will be emailed to you. This can be useful for announcements and where you want to give a message but don't want the caller to be able to leave a message for you.

Examples of how you may use this:

  • As a pre-recorded status announcement:
    • "We are not aware of any service affecting issues" -you'll then record a new message when you do have an issue.
  • With a delay to say that no one is available, please call back later, here you'd want to register a phone or set also-rings
  • Sorry, we're unable to take your call at the moment, please call back or email xxx@yyy
