L2TP Overview
Overview
We can use L2TP for various things! For example:
- AAISP Data SIMs can be relayed on to your L2TP server
- AAISP DSL lines can be relayed on to your L2TP server
- You can connect in to AAISP over an L2TP tunnel from a non-AAISP internet connection
See below for the links to more information.
- Also see FireBrick L2TP Server regarding the FireBrick being an L2TP 'server' - e.g. for Data SIMs to connect to.
L2TP from AAISP SIMs/DSLs to Customers own L2TP server
L2TP settings are set by staff, so please do contact them for any changes or setup. The information that would be requested is:
- Target IP (with an optional backup IP) - the L2TP server at your side
- Host - the hostname we present
- Secret - the password we use (optional)
For more information, see:
L2TP from Customers to AAISP
This is used to connect in to AAISP over a third-party internet connection. This gives you your usual AAISP IP (4 and 6) blocks and access to the internet as if you were conencted via a normal DSL circuit.
- Hostname: l2tp.aa.net.uk
- Plain L2TP without any IPsec
- MSCHAPv2 authentication
